Learn More About Dahlia Mix
Choosing the Right Dahlia
Dahlias are large, showy flowers in many colors and shapes. For pots, choose dwarf or compact varieties. Pick healthy tubers or plants with firm stems.
Soil & Bed Preparation
They like rich, fertile, and well-drained soil. Mix garden soil, compost, and sand for aeration. Use deep pots (12–14 inches) for good root growth.
Sunlight & Placement
Dahlias love full sunlight — at least 6 hours daily. Place pots on balconies, terraces, or open gardens. Without enough sun, they produce fewer blooms.
Watering & Care
Water regularly to keep soil moist, especially in hot weather. Avoid waterlogging, which rots tubers. Mulch helps retain moisture and cool roots.
Tools & Support
Provide stakes for taller plants to support heavy flowers. Fertilize every 2 weeks with a balanced or phosphorus-rich feed. Remove side buds if you want bigger flowers.
Growth & Harvest
Dahlias bloom from mid-summer to autumn. Flowers last well when cut for vases. At the end of the season, store tubers for replanting next year.
