Learn More About Rubber Plant
Choosing the Right Plant
Rubber plants are bold indoor plants with large, glossy leaves (green, burgundy, or variegated). Pick plants with firm leaves and strong stems. Avoid ones with droopy or spotted leaves.
Soil & Potting Mix
Needs well-draining, slightly acidic soil. A good mix is garden soil + sand + compost + cocopeat. Use deep pots (12–14 inches) with drainage.
Sunlight & Placement
Loves bright, indirect light. Direct sun burns the leaves, while too little light slows growth. Place in living rooms or office corners with natural light.
Watering & Care
Water weekly or when topsoil feels dry. Reduce watering in winter. Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to keep them shiny and dust-free.
Tools, Fertilizers & Maintenance
Fertilize once a month during the growing season. Use gloves while pruning, as the plant releases sticky sap. Repot every 2–3 years.
Benefits & Growth
Excellent at removing indoor toxins. Grows tall and adds elegance to interiors. A hardy plant that lasts for years with care.
